Background
Patients can be added in the web app. This helps to separate participants' data and makes it easy to download activity data afterwards.
The word 'Patients' refers to participants in general and is recommended as a tool to separate data whenever a measurement is made.
How to add a new patient
1) Log on to the WEB-app.
2) Under the "Patients" tab, press; to add a new patient.
Enter Patient ID/First Name. The Patient ID does not need to be personally identifiable, just as the last name and phone number are also optional to enter.
Under 'Sensor information', select which sensor is to be used for the patient being created.
Under 'Measurement type', only 'Activity' can be selected.
In the 'Sensor on Thigh' menu, the correct sensor must be selected. The sensor ID is written on the sensor.
Important: Only select sensors that are ready to use and not already associated with another patient. The ready-to-use sensors are marked with a green dot in front of the sensor ID in the menu and a grey man after the sensor ID in the 'Sensor on Thigh' menu: |
Note: If the sensor is not switched on, the green dot will be replaced by a black dot and if the sensor is assigned to another patient, the grey man will be replaced by an orange man in the 'Sensor on Thigh' menu: |
(Orange man)
(Black dot)
Under 'Monitoring period', select the start and end time of the period to be measured.
For the start time there are three options:
- Now: The measurement will start as soon as the Submit button is clicked.
- Specific time: Here you enter a date and time (15 minute intervals) when the measurement should start.
- Not defined yet: No date to be added.
For the end time there are four options:
- Now: refers to the measurement ending now.
- Specific time: a date and time (15 minute intervals) is entered here for the measurement to end
- Expected period: Enter the number of days the measurement is expected to last.
- Not defined yet: No date to be added.
Note: An end time cannot be added if 'Not defined yet' is selected under Start Time. |
If a sensor is switched on, it will collect data and store it, even if it is outside a period given above. This means that you can always subsequently adjust the start and end day of a measurement.
A measurement will not stand as completed until a specific date has been set on it. This means that if 'Not defined yet' is selected, the measurement must be subsequently terminated by entering an end date. Follow this guide for help to change the start and end date.
3) Place the sensor on the patient/participant. Make sure the sensor is switched on before. Note the time if necessary.
4) Upon receipt of sensor (Monitoring period is over), data must be transferred and then sensor must be turned off if not to be used again immediately. Follow this guide for help on how to transfer data or follow this guide for help to turn off the sensor.
