Background
The sensor's battery level is updated when the sensor has made contact with the app. For more information on data transfer click here.
The battery in the sensor is not rechargeable and therefore the sensor must be returned to SENS Innovation when the sensor battery has run out of power. Within the period of use, the battery can last for 130 days when activated and 2 years in off mode.
How to check the battery level
1) To check the battery level, click on "Sensors " and press the corresponding sensor
It is recommended that the sensor has a minimum of 2.70 V (2700 mV) left - at this point there will be approximately 14 days of life left. The sensor shown in the picture above is brand new and therefore close to 3 volts.
Colour codes
In addition, the battery level can be read via the colour codes on the overview page of the sensors. Here 5 different colour codes are indicated. Holding the mouse over the battery icon, it is also possible to get information about the exact voltage level of the battery.
The colour codes mean:
Battery level is completely fresh
The battery has less than 2800 mV and can last for at least 4 weeks
The battery has less than 2700 mV and can last for about 14 days
Battery has less than 2550 mV. The battery is empty, so data must be transferred as soon as possible and the sensor must be switched off and put aside
Battery status not updated for at least 3 months |
NOTE: Battery life corresponds to how long the sensor can measure. As soon as the sensor is switched on, it measures.
It is recommended that the sensor's battery level is updated not more than two days before the sensor is attached to a patient/citizen. This ensures that there is enough battery for the sensor to measure the desired period.
If the sensor has not been near the SENS exercise app in the last 3 months, the battery status will change to a grey question mark. As the sensor will always use some power, it is therefore not possible to say exactly how much battery is left on the sensor. It is therefore recommended that the SENS motion app is opened near the sensor to measure the battery level and see if the sensor is still functional.
