Data transfer from sensor

Background

The SENS motion app transfers data from sensor to server. If you want to get insight into the data continuously, the data has to be transferred frequently. 

SENS motion activity sensor will monitor and store all data for up to 10 days without the need for transfer. Data will only be transferred when the SENS motion app is open and within a range of 10-15 meters.

Data transfer

When a sensor needs to transfer data to the server, the SENS motion app must be opened on a smartphone or tablet (Picture 1). When opened, the SENS motion app will look as shown in Picture 2. However, if it looks as shown in Picture 3, check that Bluetooth, mobile data and location services (iOS)/location (Android) are enabled.

When the SENS motion app is turned on and running, as shown in Picture 2, the sensor will automatically start transmitting data.

By adding a favorite sensor, you can keep track of the sensor's progress. A day's data will take approximately 5 minutes to transfer.

Below the selected favourite sensor, the amount of data on the sensor is displayed (Picture 4). Then the transfer will start and it will change to show how much data has been transferred (Picture 5). When all data has been transferred, the sensor will be empty of data and therefore only a few seconds of data will be on the sensor (Picture 6).

The sensor will stop transferring data if the application is closed or put 'in the background' on a smartphone. Therefore, it is important that it remains open while the transfer is taking place.

If the SENS motion app is turned off during transfer, the sensor will save the data that was not transferred and simply continue the next time the SENS motion app is turned on.

One day of data takes approximately 5 minutes to transfer. Naturally, the more data there is on the sensor, the longer the data transfer will take.
